We’ve all experienced hypnotic states in every day life-whether daydreaming, driving home on auto pilot, or practicing meditation.  When in this relaxed state, your subconscious mind is in a heightened state of awareness, and therefore, generally accepts properly worded suggestions 100-300 times easier than when you are fully awake. In most cases the subject is fully aware and able to respond to requests, either verbally or by a signal.  Hypnosis is a “state of selective thinking”, where the subject (who is always in control) chooses to experience only what is relevant to the task at hand, blocking out everything else.
